ELECT DAVE STEVENSON FOR SCHOOL TRUSTEE IN 2022



DAVE is a lifetime community member and twenty nine year member of the West Vancouver Board of Education. Dave has a Master's Degree in Counselling and Leadership Administration and a long term commitment to public education and leadership in this community. Dave works as a college administrator. He is the parent of five West Vancouver School District graduates, has coached basketball, baseball and soccer in the community and has served on many municipal committees. Dave's experience in education and community social service agencies and demonstrated broad and strong knowledge allow him to serve the students and community of School District 45, West Vancouver with wisdom. Dave brings an experienced, reasonable and practical voice to the Board of Education to make good decisions for our students and our community.

ON OCTOBER 15TH, VOTE DAVE STEVENSON

In addition to making student achievement and success our First Priority, the key Issues I will address as your representative are:

• Advocate with Victoria for stable funding that meets the needs of our students and school district and a workable model of co-governance
• Negotiate a new contract with our teachers that is fair and maintains the board's' ability to manage and improve our schools for our kids and the community
• Monitor and support the Board to deal with the changing needs in our Community
• Continue to advocate at the Board table for programs that meet our unique challenges with innovative solutions
• Continue to develop shared services savings with our education and municipal partners that work for our community
• Continue to advocate better local bus transportation for secondary students to reduce traffic conegestion in West Van
• Continue a strong tradition of working to create a strong working Board of Education
• Review all sources for additional revenue for the school district
• Continue to manage our budget to get the most out of every taxpayer dollar
• Continue to advocate for improved mental health support services for all students
• Continue to build our relationship with our host Squamish Nation and provide additional community building events
• Continue to support our students to explore the range of post-seconday opportunities
• Continue to provide each West Van, Bowen Island and Lions Bay student the opportunity to find their future with the best possible educational programs and supports
